Faithbook Pages in your Traditional Album
Since I was 15 years old I have been creating chronological photo albums that capture the
traditional pictures that most people take; birthdays, holidays, vacations, special events,
haircuts, friends, etc.
As my children were born, I began making personal albums for them, again using a chronological
method to document their life. Therefore, once I started Faithbooking, I continued to do my albums
the same way – in chronological order, but the difference was that I now incorporate Faithbooking
stories or themes into the albums. I simply would ask myself, “How can these pictures glorify God?”
For me, chronological keeps it simple and user-friendly – the Faithbooking methods keep the focus
on the Lord.
You can use the “Faithbooking by the Month” guide to help you with ideas on how to
incorporate faith stories in your traditional albums.
ABC Word List
An easy way to begin creating Faithbooks is to start with what is commonly called an ABC
Scripture Album. In this book, using the letters of the alphabet as a guide you can choose
favourite scriptures that are meaningful to you.
Starting with the letter A on the first page, find a scripture with a word that begins with
A. (Some people find a verse that contains any word that begins with a particular letter you are
working with…it doesn’t necessarily have to be the first word in the verse). Once you have selected
your scripture verse, you will then find a picture that compliments that verse. The final step is
to write a short/long story that came to mind when you chose that picture and verse. Sample
scripture verses for an ABC album are found in the Idea section of the website.
For example, on the “L” page of an alphabet album, I have Proverbs 25:25 “Like cold water to
a weary soul, is good news from a distant land.” I read that verse on September 3, 1985, the day we
got the phone call telling us our adopted daughter Janetta was flying home to us from India. That
call was certainly good news from a distant land!

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.
Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.

Every good and perfect gift is from above.
Fear not for I am with you.
God is love.
He is my rock and my salvation.

Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.
Quench not the Spirit.
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say, rejoice!
Seek ye first His kingdom and His righteousness.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart.

No weapon that is known
On earth can yield the power
Praise can do alone
Quit looking at the future
Redeem the time at hand
Start every day with worship

Until we see Him coming
Victorious in the sky
We'll run the race with gratitude
X-alting God most high
Yes, there'll be good times and yes some will be bad, but...
Zion waits in glory...where none are ever sad!
Respect Album for Husbands
(Idea developed and submitted by Cathy Miller)
In the book Love and Respect by Emerson Eggerichs, he talks about how a man's love
language comes in the form of respect and a women's love language comes in the form of love. In the
course of my study of this book I was encouraged to write my husband a "respect card". Instead I
created a respect album. I used a Sentiments album, a snap pack and the Love quotes throughout.
The themes included the following:
It began with pictures of us as a newly married couple. I wrote:
"Fred, I always tell people that when I was a girl I was looking for knight in shining armor
to come and sweep me off my feet. I was looking for someone romantic and daring. A fairy tale
perhaps? I don't think so.
You have become my "knight in shining armor". You have wooed me by touching my heart with
your acceptance, your encouragement and your love. Romance comes in many packages, I have learned,
and as you know, I find your being such a good listener a very romantic endeavor on your part, for
instance. You have always made our marriage a priority and that is as romantic as it gets!
As for being daring...you are a risk taker. When it comes to taking a stand for God's truth,
you seek to never compromise and yet you pick your battles wisely."
These were some of the following themes for the rest of the book that were accompanied by
pictures:
I respect your desire to be a great father.
I respect the way you made our family a priority in your life
I respect you for the way you have always sought to actively love your parents and mine.
I respect the way you support relationship building with your church staff.
I respect the way you are willing to be the source of our humor as well as the promoter of
other's enjoyment of humor.
I respect the way you so selflessly seek to guide and direct others in their walk with God.
I respect the way you see the importance of family traditions and were so willing to allow me
to be creative in our family celebrations.
I respect you for seeking to always broaden your mind through reading books and inspiring our
children to do the same thing.
I respect you for being willing to go to work each day.
I respect the way you sought to make our house a home through all your home improvement
projects you've done for me.
I respect so much your servant heart
The book included more specific stories, Scripture verses, and quotes.
I ended the book with the theme verse for our marriage: Glorify the Lord with me; let us
exalt his name together. Psalm 34:3
Faithbooking by the Month Album
January
New Years - Document your Spiritual goals/resolutions:
With each New Year comes the expectancy of greater spiritual growth. Working with current
photos, write out your plan for your family’s spiritual growth. If working with photos from past
years, try recording a spiritually significant event that happened that year.
Include spiritual goals you’ve made such as: 1) Use the One Year Bible to read the entire
Bible this year, 2) Do a Beth Moore Bible Study, 3) Start the kids in the church’s Awana program,
4) Read one Christian book per month, 5) Listen to Marriage tapes together
Optional Idea: Review the names of each family member. Record the spiritual meaning of each
name if you know it. Was anyone named after someone else to honor them? Title the page “Name Fame”
or use your last name “Bellisario”. Tell each family member’s story on an individual journal box or
use a ruled page selecting a different color pen for each person. You could even have a family
night as you share how you prayed for, and selected, each name. Proverbs 22:1 or Ecclesiastes. 16:3
would be good verses to include on a Name page. This could also be an excellent title page.
February
Valentine’s Day - God is love and He answers prayers:
Write out a recent answer to prayer, or a request you are currently praying for and awaiting
an answer. Display photos to document your prayer journey. You don’t have to do several requests or
make this complicated. Just choose one very important prayer on your heart and record it. For past
photos, write out a prayer that was on your heart that particular year.
Example: This year my Valentines/Prayer page is called “The Ninety and Nine”. There is a
wonderful hymn by that title, inspired by the verse in Matthew about how the Lord leaves
ninety-nine sheep to go look for the one lost sheep. Most of us can relate; we have either once
been the lost sheep ourselves or we know a lost sheep we are praying will be restored to the fold.
The song’s powerful message is very encouraging. The Lord will do whatever it takes to find that
one lost sheep.
Optional Idea: Recall your Love Story: courtship, engagement & wedding. As Christians we
look to the Bible for the qualities we want in a life mate. Share how God brought you together,
lessons learned, things you want for your own children and grandchildren as they look to find a
mate, etc. Record how God and His word have changed your perspectives in this area. The lyrics from
Watercolor Pony by Wayne Watson may be suitable for a page detailing your prayer for your son’s
future mate.
March/April
Easter, the resurrection of Jesus Christ – Write out ONE person’s personal testimony:
Since Easter reminds us that we now have eternal life available because of Christ’s death and
resurrection, use this holiday to document the circumstances that you and your family received that
gift of eternal life. Choose one person each year and write out their personal testimony including
what their life was like before receiving Christ, how they were introduced to the Lord and what
life has been since their salvation. You might start with the oldest member of your family –
perhaps a grandparent or parent. You also can include the testimonies of other spiritual saints in
your life. No matter what year of pictures you are displaying, choose one person’s testimony to
record.
Example: This year my husband Mac wrote out his personal testimony for our album. It was very
encouraging for him to document his spiritual journey. He also discovered his “life verse” through
the process. I’m convinced we will never “run out of” testimonies to include in our album.
Optional March Idea: As Christ left heaven to be willingly sacrificed on our behalf, share
times God may have led you to sacrifice something. In our home, we each select one thing we enjoy
and give it up during the 40 days known as “Lent” to be obedient or for spiritual growth. The goal
is that each time we would normally enjoy that item we’re reminded of what Christ gave-up on our
behalf and prompted to pray.
Optional April Idea: Spring is a time of vibrant growth. Another idea is to share a time of
great spiritual growth. When did God take you from the darkness of old thoughts to the light of a
new way of thinking or acting?
May
Mother’s Day - Spiritual impact as a mother:
Use this holiday as an opportunity to offer a tribute to your mother, your mother-in-law or a
woman who has been influential in your life. You may choose to write about your own journey as a
mother and what you are striving for. Find a mother figure to write about.
Example: This year I choose to write about my mother-in-law. She is a very godly woman and I
have many, many pictures of her in my albums. However, I have never before taken the time to write
about her impact on our family.
Optional Idea: I’m not as fortunate as Rhonda to enjoy a Christian mother or mother-in-law,
so I needed other ideas. We often read the “Proverb of the Day” (Proverbs has 31 chapters so we
read the chapter that corresponds to the day of the month.) Use a calendar page to record one verse
chosen each day that really speaks to you. Or as a woman, focus on Proverbs 31 and journal about
one area where God wants to grow you this year as a wife and mother.
June
How do you see God at work through your job:
This can be an opportunity to share miracles or answered prayer regarding your work. What
challenges have come your way and how has the Lord delivered you through each situation? Or what
are you thankful for regarding your work? What spiritual goals do you have through your work?
Example: In my album I wrote about how Mac was able to use his carpentry skills while we
traveled full-time. While in Wichita, Kansas he worked on a “Habitat for Humanity” house. The
people thanked the Lord for his help as they had no other experienced carpenters there that day.
Optional Idea: While I’m blessed with lots of wonderful “impact” stories where God had used
me through my CM business to reach others, another labor related idea is to tell the story where
God may have rearranged your priorities. God shifted my choices after salvation from being a “
career-oriented” independent person, to one who delights (most days) in being home full-time. Has
God redirected your career path, or altered your priorities in another way, to align more with His?
July
The 4th of July/Canada Day - We are blessed with religious freedom by our Founding Father’s
perseverance:
Write about seeing God at work in your church and/ or your community. No matter what pictures
you have taken of the 4th of July/Canada Day celebration, use them to specifically list things that
you are thankful for because of the religious freedom we have. You might write about how you serve
at your church; do you teach Sunday school, help in the nursery, lead a Bible Study, greet on
Sunday morning, pray on the prayer chain, work in the kitchen for socials, help with Youth Group,
etc. This is a great time to let future generations know how you value being a participating member
of a local church.
Example: Since we are at a new church this year, we decided to create a page of the Pastor’s
family and pictures of the worship team. We documented how encouraged we have been by the music and
messages. A favorite worship song can also be documented this month.
Optional Idea: “Independence Day” can be a springboard to share how you were once independent
and how God has drawn you to greater dependence on Him. Or consider sharing how you (and other
family members) served the country in the military, what God taught you (them) during that time in
the Armed Forces. How did He calm fears? Help you overcome loneliness? Protect you?
August
The first day of school - What spiritual message do you want your kids or grandkids to
remember:
Education comes from several sources but wisdom comes from the Lord. What Biblical truth do
you want your kids to forever remember? Note: The Faithbooking Concordance has great scripture
ideas under “school”.
Example: One year I wrote the phrase, “God equips those He calls.” I wanted our kids to know
that whatever calling is on their life, the Lord would supply them with every resource they would
need to fulfill that calling. I had a picture of the first day of school, Joel at a “Youth for
Christ” Bible Study, all the kids at a Spiritual Giftings class at church and a photo of Jacob
receiving his pilot’s license initiation. Through my journaling I assured the children that God can
use a variety of educational sources to equip them with the training they need to fulfill his
calling on their life.
Optional Idea: Travel is often part of Summer. Write about one trip where God was at work in
your life. How were you changed? What happened that reminded you of God’s presence in this new
place?
September
Father’s Day - Spiritual impact as a father:
Like Mother’s Day this can be a prompt to write about a lesson learned from your father,
father-in-law or a spiritual father. Or fathers can write about their own fathering experiences or
goals.
Example: My husband Mac wrote about his strong spiritual heritage passed down to him through
Christian Grandfathers. He told about his Great, great grandfather who was saved by listening to
the preaching of a Salvation Army street-side pastor and how this man’s prayers affected several
generations. No matter what the year of photos you have, find a father figure to write about.
Optional Ideas: Record those times you’ve really leaned on your Heavenly Father. When has He
made Himself so real to you as protector and provider, attributes often associated with Fathers.
June is also graduation time. Were there special lessons God taught you in school? Did he provide a
teacher or friend to mentor you in the Lord? Share about doors God has opened for you through the
years.
October
How has God used a spiritual mentor in your life (or your family’s life) this year OR in past
years:
There are people that have great impact on our lives that never get acknowledged or
remembered. Use this month as an opportunity to thank the Lord and document how He used that person
in your life. This could be someone who impacted you recently or in past years.
Example: In October I did an interview with a magazine writer named Virelle Kidder. During
the interview we discussed many topics including our children; she too has both biological and
adopted kids. Virelle passed on to Mac and I advice that has really impacted our parenting. We are
very thankful to the Lord for sending Virelle to us at the very time we were struggling with a
decision regarding our children. (I wrote all the details on the album page).
Optional idea: Harvest time means bounty from a seed planted much earlier. Document a time
God provided a bountiful harvest. When did you see Him take your meager effort and multiply the
results in unexpected ways?
November
How has God provided for you this year:
This is an obvious, but yet very meaningful opportunity to be aware of and document the Lord’s
blessings. Have we thanked Him for our health, new friends, increased business, a new baby,
marriage reconciliation, abundant food, etc.?
Example: We sold our home in St. Cloud and have been praying about where the Lord would
re-settle our family. In a miraculous way He provided a place to build sometime in 2003. “God
Provides”.
Optional Idea: We could all probably fill volumes with the material provisions God has
bestowed on us. But you might chose to use November to write an “I’m Thankful for you because….”
Letter about one member of your family each year. Children especially value from hearing how they
have been sent by God to fill a unique place in your family.
December
Christmas - How have you seen the Lord use your spiritual gifts this year:
We all have been given spiritual gifts: serving, giving, hospitality, preaching, etc. How
have you seen the Lord use your gifts or how have you seen the Lord use a family member’s gifts
this year?
Example: Mac is blessed with an extra dose of sacrificial giving and he is also a skilled
carpenter. This past December, Mac, our son Jacob and his wife Gina and our daughters Janetta and
Julia drove to Mexico during the Christmas break to build houses for the poor. Jacob and Gina are
in training to be full-time missionaries so this trip was also an opportunity for them to
demonstrate their passion for people. All of them exercised their spiritual gifts as they served
the very poorest of people. Maybe this year you used your spiritual gifts to serve at a Right to
Life Banquet, raise money for a cancer patient, donate your business profits to a charity or start
a Mom’s in Touch group. Perhaps your family went on a mission’s trip, or worked at the local food
shelf. Tell about it now!
Optional Idea: Take Rhonda’s idea and turn it around: When has God sent someone your way to
meet a need you had by them sharing their gifts to benefit you?
Ways you can use these ideas:
Select one per month to weave into your on-going Family Album OR you might elect to have a “
Faithbook” Album devoted exclusively to these faith-based stories. With this option you add to it
each month by selecting one idea, and enjoy an ever-growing collection of God-at-work memories
compiled in one place.
Heritage Faithbook album
Submitted by Cynthia Moller
One day I looked at my albums 'all caught up' and thought, "One day people will know all
about my life but nothing about what and Who is at the center of my life and that of our whole
family." So I started my Christian Heritage Album. On the front page I wrote the following verses
all from the Living Bible. Ps 105 v 1 Make known His deeds Ps 107 v 2 Has the Lord redeemed you?
Then speak out! Tell others that He has saved you. and Ps 96 v 2&3 Each day tell someone He
saves. Publish His glorious acts throughout the earth. I then got each of our family members who
are Christians to write their testimonies, How and when they accepted the Lord as their Savior etc.
I have included photos of the grandchildren when they were baptized, any 'outreach,' little prayers
they had written. My Grand daughter Fay's letters from her mission trip, etc..
On a page with a photo of my husband Elton and I, I wrote, Psalm 71 vs 16,17,18. O God you
have helped me from my earliest childhood -and I have constantly testified to others of the
wonderful things you do. And know that I am old and grey, don't forsake me. Give me time to tell
this new generation (and their children too) about all your mighty miracles. ( Isn't that a
wonderful Scripture?)
So with photos of our Christian activities and our testimonies, future generations (if the
Lord does not come first ) will KNOW that they had ancestors who had given their lives to the Lord
and had been saved and kept by Him and had prayed for them , the generations not yet born!
I would love to have known if anyone in my family had been a Christian. If anyone had prayed
for me to come to the Lord.
Here are other questions that could be asked to make this album:
1. Where were you born and raised?
2. How many in your family?
3. Were you close with your siblings/Parents while growing up?
4. What was your childhood like?
5. Were you raised in a Christian home?
6. How were you taught or not taught about God?
7. How was your faith or lack of faith, incorporated into your childhood?
8. Did anything memorable happen in your childhood that stands out, and how did faith play a
part in it?
9. What did you do after high school?
10. Did you keep developing your faith on your own or was this where you first discovered God
as part of your life?
11. Who was the person who influenced your life the most in your belief in God when you were
growing up?
12. Who was the person who influenced your life the most in your belief in God as an adult?
13. How did you start on the path that led you to where you are today and how did your faith
help you get there?
14. Was there an event in your life that strengthened your faith?
15. Was there an event in your life that tested your faith/made you question your belief and
trust in God?
16. Was there ever a time in your life where you felt your faith was stagnating or you weren’t
giving enough time to helping your faith grow?
17. Have you ever felt like you hit ‘rock bottom’ in life and came back?
18. Does humor in your life - play a part in your faith?
19. How does prayer play a part in your life – for others and for yourself?
20. Today, in your hectic schedule, what is your favorite way to make time for your faith?
21. Do you ever have guilt of not putting God first or more often – in your life? Or do you
feel as if he is always there – and how do you make that happen?
22. How important is tithing in your relationship with God and why is it important? What does
it represent?
What one thing (or two!) would you like to leave as your legacy to your faith, for your
children or for the world to know about you?
Gifts From God Album
Submitted by Director Maureen Martin
Maureen titles the inside cover (or the first page) with this verse, “Every good and perfect
gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like
shifting shadows.” James 1:17
How many gifts have you been given from God? Your salvation/eternal life, your husband, your
children, your family, your friends, your business, your ministry, your health, your home, your
prayer partner, your church, your church family, the freedom in our country, freedom to worship,

Maureen’s album contains a written record of all these things, along with pictures if she has
them.
This album is an on-going record of the gifts God blesses us with – the way He continues to
work in our lives – the scripture He speaks to us through. Songs can also be used in this album.
Ideas for using the Christian Inspiration Pages
to tell your faith story:
Blessed are the poor in spirit; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
The Matthew Henry Commentary describes poor in spirit as: “To acknowledge that God is great
and we are small; that He is holy and we are sinful.” Use this beatitude to describe your
salvation. How did you come to know Christ as your Savior?
Blessed are they that mourn; for they shall be comforted
When have you had a valuable adversity; a painful experience that you learned from? When has
pain been a teacher?
Blessed are the meek; for they shall inherit the earth.
Meekness is sometimes described as giving up your rights so that you may serve others. Share
your involvement with your job or ministry. How are you serving others with your job?
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.
Share your experience with your church. Where do you attend; how are you involved. What is
your favorite source of spiritual food? What are favorite verses, praise songs or hymns?
Blessed are the merciful; for they shall obtain mercy.
Describe mission trips, service to your friends and loved ones or your community. When have
you reached out to show mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart; for they shall see God.
The Matthew Henry Commentary states, “True Christianity lies in the heart, in the purity of
the heart.” A pure heart (salvation) is a desire for ourselves and future generations. Journal
about the birth of your children and how the Lord has guided you in key family decisions.
Blessed are the peacemakers; for they shall be called the children of God.
Marriage is a lifetime of letting Christ’s love bless and encourage our mates. Share how the
Lord brought the two of you together. What are some of your marriage struggles and victories?
Special Anniversaries?
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sake; for theirs is the kingdom of
heaven.
Who are the people of faith that have inspired you? Who are your heroes? Include photos and
stories of your experiences with these people.
